2024 Paint Colors of the Year for Your Kansas City Home
(photograph: Cracked Pepper by Behr, accent wall)
Across the interior design landscape this year, we're seeing very BLUE and warm colors come to life. For years, buyers have opted for very neutral "blank canvas" homes with white walls, white kitchen cabinets and light gray carpet. BUT adding color in subtle ways really makes a house a home. While we wouldn't advise for anyone who is planning on selling their home this year to paint their entire home blue, we instead encourage homeowners to incorporate these newly popular colors into their home decor, furniture, accent walls and wall art.
Check out what the best known paint brands are showcasing in 2024!
Cracked Pepper by Behr - A highly versatile soft black, Cracked Pepper is a great alternative to the very popular Tricorn Black by Sherwin Williams. It looks great on accent walls or powder rooms with brass lighting and marble counters. We also love it with leather furniture or natural elements like rattan and jute.
Blue Nova by Benjamin Moore - Nothing 'sad' about this color by interior designer's favorite, Benjamin Moore! This versatile blue is is inspired by the night sky and has an intriguing mystical feel to it. Perhaps a softer approach than doing a classic navy? Make sure you're not choosing this color for North facing rooms because they will look bluish purple.
Viridis by Graham & Brown - We are all about the earthy trend continuing on from years' past and this ethereal green will make any home peaceful and serene. We love it for bathroom vanities, built-in shelves and accent walls. Also lovely for Mid-Century inspired spaces with it's velvety feel and finish!
Upward by Sherwin Williams - Ocean vibes are all around with this shade of blue! The coastal design trend continues and we foresee this color shining in popularity. Couple with neutral tones, earthy textures and brass fixtures. Surf's on!
Ironside by Dutch Boy - Deep olive green hues without being too dark... meet Ironside! A lovely shade perfect for a moody office, powder room or built-in shelves with brass hardware. If you have a room with big windows and lots of natural light, take a risk with Ironside and you won't be disappointed!
Renew Blue by Valspar - Another blue in the 2024 palette, this shade is also very coastal but brighter than a light sky blue. We think it would look great in a nursery, playroom or mudroom. Blue is known to illicit a calming feeling and this color absolutely does just that!
